Fair Trade Coffee Project

Coffee Beans

Did you know that for only approximately 85 cents an ounce of coffee beans (whole or ground) you can drink great organic and fair trade coffee, support coffee growers directly, and contribute to agencies that provide relief and encourage economic development locally and throughout the world?  All Saints in Big Sky, a shared ministry of the Episcopal and Lutheran (ELCA) churches, has launched its Fair Trade Coffee Project.  Coffees supporting three organizations – Episcopal Relief and Development, Lutheran World Relief, and Morningstar Learning Center here in Big Sky - are served at the congregation's fellowship time after its 9:30 service at the Big Sky Chapel and are available for sale. Many organic and fair trade blends are available for sale, including regular and decaf, whole bean and drip grind.

Fair trade is a system that guarantees a fair price to the farmer who grows the coffee, including a minimum price when market prices are low.  The coffees served and sold at All Saints come from cooperatives that are owned and governed by and for the farmers.  The benefits of trade actually reach the farmers and their communities.  Fair trade far surpasses the temporary assistance provided to farmers through charity.

You are invited to participate in the All Saints Coffee Project.  All Saints invites you to attend the worship service any Sunday at 9:30 AM and then enjoy a cup of good coffee with us during the fellowship time!  You can check out our coffee display and see the variety that is currently on sale.   If you would like to order coffee that can be delivered to your home, please send an email coffee@allsaintsbigsky.com.
